This research is a study on the waters quality observed through the content of carbonate and organic substance found in the bed sediment of Serang river estuary in Kulonprogo. The result of the research is aimed to provide the data about the content of carbonate and organic substance as well as the size of granule. Then, in turn, this result will help to monitor one of the waters quality parameters in that area, besides it will provide the consideration in running the business on fishpond cultivation. Research method applied in this research is a descriptive method and the data is administered explosively, whereas the sampling is done using the purposive sampling method. The analysis on carbonate and organic substance is conducted chemically on the bed sediment of the waters, and the granule analysis is done using sieve shaker whereas the analysis of sediment distribution in the location is done using 4 statistic parameters : mean, deviation standard, skweness and kurtosis. The result of the physical analysis indicates that bed sediment of Serang river in Kulonprogo consists of granular silt, silted very fine and sand. The highest content of carbonate is found for about 16% - 16,4% in coastal area, the estuary consists of 9,2% - 9,6% and the river consists of 9,1% - 9,8%. The highest content of organic substance is found in the estuary and the lowest is found in the coastal area, whereas the content of it in the river is between them. Rubbish and organic waste accumulated in the estuary influence the level of the organic substance content, however, as a whole the content of organic substance in the estuary is in the medium classification.</p> 2018-07-25T00:00:00+00:00 ##submission.copyrightStatement## http://jurnal.amy.ac.id/index.php/MIBJ/article/view/149 Enhancing Maritime Term-Based Communication Through Communicative Activities Amongs Students In Yogyakarta Maritime Academy 2019-01-28T07:49:49+00:00 Sri Sartini sartinisri69@gmail.com <p>This research is aimed at getting to know the problem of cadets in Nautical Science Study Program academic year 2016/2017 in their second semester grade upon their way to master communication skill especially in the practice of using Maritime term-based communication. Knowing the problem, researcher scaffold the cadets as many as 30 cadets with the typically teaching and learning process which is much concerned to the learners. This research was conducted in an action research where it included some cycles that is teaching and learning cycles, diagnostic cycle, treatment or scaffolding and taking a conclusion. The result of the study shows that communicative approach taught by Maritime English lecturer which emphasizes cadets to speak is not that simple to be practically given to them. It is due to the different native speaking country or cultural background that does not customize them to speak up. Scaffolding them by implementing the use of Standard Marine Communication Phrases in class combined with the type of teaching approach which higlight to student-centered learning is proven giving better achievement of teaching and learning process.Thirteen out of the twenty three cadets or it is more than a half percentage of the class achieved better skill in communication in English especially in maritime context by the use of Standard Marine Communication Phrases.</p> 2018-07-25T00:00:00+00:00 ##submission.copyrightStatement## http://jurnal.amy.ac.id/index.php/MIBJ/article/view/150 Pola Saluran Pemasaran Ikan Di Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta (DIY) 2019-01-28T07:53:54+00:00 Cahya Purnomo cahyapiyungan@gmail.com <p>This study aims to analyse fish's marketing channel pattern of Yogyakarta Region. Data gathering by purposive sampling, that comprise 2 fish auctions of Gunung Kidul District and 1 of Kulon Progo District, 6 fishermans of Gunung Kidul District and 4 from Kulon Progo District, 4 intermediary trader of Gunung Kidul District and&nbsp; 3 from Kulon Progo District. Analysis used&nbsp; by describe fish's marketing channel pattern and counts to fisherman's share. The result showed that 60% of fish circulating in DIY come from the North Coast of Java and 40% from Yogyakarta Region. &nbsp;Yogyakarta Region fish production is exported 40%, especially high-value fish. There are 4 patterns of marketing channels. Pattern 1 is fisherman - fish auctions – end consumer by fisherman's share 95 % for all species, this type is most effective channel. &nbsp;Pattern 2 is is fisherman – fish auctions – collector traders – retailer trader – end consumer by variety fisherman's share from 48 % so 71 %. Pattern 3 is is fisherman – fish auctions – collector traders – restaurant – end consumer by variety fisherman's share from 39 % sampai 64 %. &nbsp;Pattern 4 is fisherman – fish auctions – processing industry – end consumer, that fisherman's share is known to&nbsp; collector&nbsp; traders only from&nbsp; 61 %&nbsp; to&nbsp; 85 %. All fish transaction always through fish auctions as mediator between fisherman and next marketing stakeholder.</p> 2018-07-25T00:00:00+00:00 ##submission.copyrightStatement## http://jurnal.amy.ac.id/index.php/MIBJ/article/view/151 Analisis Simulator Kapal STSTC Sebagai Sarana Pembelajaran Utama Di AMY 2019-01-28T07:57:49+00:00 Yudhi Setiyantara yudyoudhi@gmail.com Bambang Soedijono yudyoudhi@gmail.com Eko Pramono yudyoudhi@gmail.com <p>On October 8th, 2016, it was inaugurated a simulator laboratory of STSTC (Scientific and Technical Simulator Training Center) owned by AMY (Yogyakarta Maritime Academy). The problem of the acceptance and satisfaction level of Nautical cadets to the simulator laboratory as the main learning media can be observed by a study based on Technology Acceptance Model (TAM). Research conducted to get the core problems that caused lack of motivation and satisfaction of Nautical cadets to the existing simulator laboratory. Items for measuring usefulness and ease of use are taken from Davis F.D (1989). Items for measuring user satisfaction are taken from Doll and Torkzadeh (1988). All these variables are measured by Likert scale. The results show that generally the acceptance of Nauticalcadets to the STSTC laboratory simulator especially the simulator bridge is good enough, but could not reach the maximum score caused by relatively low score on the satisfaction value.</p> 2018-07-25T00:00:00+00:00 ##submission.copyrightStatement##
